In prior seasons, organizations were permitted to host their own playoff games at their home facilities. However, due to limited officiating availability, Field conditions, unpredictable weather conditions during the postseason, and the logistical need for venues capable of accommodating multiple games, TYFA will now solicit and select official host venues for playoff weekends.
This approach ensures a consistent, efficient, and fair scheduling process across all regions.
2.Hosting Eligibility and Venue Requirements
Organizations interested in hosting must meet the following criteria:
Multi-Game Capability
Venues must be able to accommodate multiple games in a single day, including games for teams not affiliated with the hosting organization.
Hosts must be prepared to operate playoff events even if their own teams are not participating or are scheduled to play elsewhere.
Field Surface
Preference will be given to venues with artificial turf surfaces due to their reliability and durability in inclement weather conditions.
Scheduling Availability
Preference will be given to venues available for Saturday games, as this facilitates more efficient scheduling across the state.
Venue Standards
Facilities will be evaluated based on the following factors:
Field quality and safety
Availability and accessibility (including parking and spectator accommodations)
Restroom and concession amenities
Lighting (if hosting evening games)
3.Financial Responsibility and Revenue
If selected as a host venue:
The hosting organization is fully responsible for all costs associated with hosting, including:
Stadium or field rental fees
Officiating crew fees
Any additional operational expenses
The hosting organization will retain 100% of the gate and concession revenue from the games hosted at their venue.
4.Game Assignment and Team Placement
Hosting status does not guarantee that the host organization’s teams will play at their own venue.
TYFA will make every effort to schedule higher-seeded host teams at their home facility.
Lower-seeded host teams may be assigned to other venues based on seeding and scheduling logistics.
Field surface, venue quality, and capacity will also be considered when assigning playoff games to ensure fair and consistent playing conditions across all locations.
Hosts should not request that lower-seeded teams be scheduled at their field.
5.Application and Selection Process
TYFA will open a hosting solicitation period prior to the postseason.
Interested organizations must submit venue details and availability for review.
TYFA will evaluate and assign host sites based on:
Field type
Amenities
Accessibility
Availability and scheduling flexibility
Organizations do not need to have teams in the postseason to be eligible to host playoff games.
